Schwerin and Heinersdorff family circa 1865 in Berlin, Germany. Standing from left to right are: Oscar Paul Schwerin (1845-1903) and Alfred Ernst Schwerin (1846-1920) and the elderly man facing left appears to be a family friend. Sitting from left to right are: Sigismund Heinersdorff (1802-1872) and Mathilde Heinersdorff (1814-1891). In 1858, Paul and Ernst Schwerin became orphans when their father, Moritz Schwerin (1810-1858), died. After his death they grew up with their maternal aunt, Mathilde Heinersdorff.

Notes

edit

If this image was taken in 1858, the year that Moritz Schwerin (1810-1858) died then Oscar Paul Schwerin would be 13 years old and Alfred Ernst Schwerin would be 12 years old. Each of them looks about 20 years old so the photo was probably taken about 1865. This means that the old man in the photo is not Moritz Schwerin (1810-1858), the boys' father. It also means that the old man is not the father of Sigismund Heinersdorff (1802-1872) or the father of Mathilde Schottländer (1814-1891). Both were dead by 1865.
