Summary
editDescriptionStribe build - Testing maximum LED iSet levels (2009-07-23 19.02.38 by c-g.).jpg | The tricky bit is getting the highest current draw from the LED drivers without maxing out the power system feeding it. This is managed by limiting the brightness using resistor packs on the board (annoyingly between the ribbon cable connector and jumper)... Orange is quite dim so for long term stability's sake what I did was get a powered hub with loads of headroom... 2.5A @ 6V and feed the hub with a quality regulated power supply... However this is the PowerBook G4 (a machine I use a lot of testbench work) currently feeding about 4mA from the USB port. Eventually I shall get the Arduino powered from 12V DC as well so it presents no draw to whatever computer I use live onstage at the time. |
