"What doesn't kill you makes you stronger Stand a little taller..."

I came close to walking away from photography earlier in the year. I am not proud of the fact that I almost gave up so easily. After an honest, somewhat embarassing conversation with a very close friend and fellow photographer (you know who you are) I now feel much stronger. I had to admit some hard truths, but I know I wouldn't be where I am today if it wasn't for this person. I feel like I understand my vision much better. To me photography is not about technique, though yes you have to be proficient. To me it is about communicating something, an idea, a feeling, concept or thought.

I took this photo because I was in love with the light at the time. As photographers light is such a key element. I chose to process in B&W because I like the contrast and tonal range that is almost lost in colour.
