Nom latin : Sympetrum fonscolombii (Selys, 1840) Nom commun : Sympétrum à nervures rouges Autres noms : Sympétrum de Fonscolombe Nom anglais : Red-veined Darter Ordre : Odonata Sous-ordre : Anisoptera Famille : Libellulidae Envergure : 62 mm. Biotope : Eaux stagnantes et tempérées de faible profondeur avec peu de végétation. Zone géographique : Sud de l'Europe y compris les îles méditerranéennes, Moyen-Orient, Afrique, Asie du sud-est. On observe des migrations vers le nord certaines années, des observations ont été faites en Suède et en Finlande par exemple.

Période de vol : Mai à octobre. Toute l'année sur le pourtour méditerranéen.
