Fireplace decorated with Zichy Coa in the staircase of the former Zichy mansion One storey residential building. Neo-Baroque staircase. Fireplace with Zichy CoA. Built in around 1745 remodelled probably extended too. Middle age architectural elements. In the garden stand a synagogue built in 1461, after unearthed in 1964-1965 buried back. The inscription on its monument plaque (installed in 1964): "Built using several medieval houses around 1745". - English Hungarian Hebrew plaque on the east fence-wall, inscription: "This is where the synagogue of Buda stood in the late Middle Ages; built in 1461 in the gothic style; destroyed during the liberation of Buda from Türkish occupation in 1686." - Historical milestones of 21, 23 and 25 Táncsics Street: In 1364, Jews settled on the north side of Táncsics Street (at this time Jewish Street); - In 1461, the New Buda Castle Synagogue is built on the plot of the Mendel family, prefect of the Jewish Community of the City of Buda; - In 1686 during the siege, the people who fled to the synagogue are massacred by the besiegers, the synagogue is set on fire, its roof collapses (buried) /elsewhere they die due to the roof collapsed from the siege?/; - In 1745, Gábor Horány, the chief official of Pest-Pilis-Solt county, unites plots 21-23 to build the Baroque building; in 1805: Antal Almásy, imperial and royal chamberlain (aka: councillor of the governor's council ) attaches plot #25 to #21-23 and the building/mansion receives its final form with three gates; in 1868: the mansion owned by Count Jenő Zichy (except for the part on the corner of Babits köz (#4 Babits Mihály Alley), which was again sepatated from the #21-23 building; In 1909 architect Ferenc Hochhauser remodelled #23-25 to the owner Count Rafael Zichy; at same time number 21 is rebuilt by Sándor Aigner in the Art Nouveau style; the last 'simplified' in 1939; In 1945, the badly damaged buildings are restored to their pre-war condition; in 1964/1965: Houses 23 and 21 acquire their present unified façade form based on archaeological excavations and photographs from the end of the 19th century, - house 25 is detached, - the late Gothic synagogue is excavated under the leadership of archaeologist László Zolnay. - This building was a participiant of the 'Budapest 100 2022' event - Part of the Budapest World Heritage protected architectural ensembles - 21-23 Táncsics Street = 2 Babits Mihály Alley = 5 Babits Mihály Promenade, Várnegyed neighborhood, District I of Budapest

Zichy címeres kandalló az egykori Zichy-kastély lépcsőházában. A neobarokk lépcsőházban látható címeres kandallópárkány is emlékeztet arra, hogy az épület 1868–1945 között a Zichy-család tulajdonában volt a 21. és 25. számú házzal együtt. A különleges hangulatú kertben állt az 1461-ben épült zsinagóga. Az 1920-as években a palotában tartották Napkelet-esteket. Volt Zichy-palota, emeletes, barokk, 1745. Átalakítva, középkori részletek. Udvarban 15. sz.-i zsinagóga maradványai 1964/65-ben feltárva majd visszatemetve. A 23-as számot egykor utcahíd kötötte össze a 28 számmal.
