Summary

edit
Description
English: Telchaquillo Yucatán 1981 - Church.

When I first visited Telchaquillo in 1977, the Catholic Church was still roofless, as John Lloyd Stephens described it in the 1840s, and an evangelical church was getting converts in the village. When I returned in 1981 the church had been roofed and appeared finally completed.

Note the carved pre-Columbian Maya stones reused just under the window.
