edit
Description A religious and political centre dating to the 7th century B.C. at the end of the Roman era. Among the ruins in the area are various building remains, baths and palestra. Apollo Hylates, God of the Woodland, was the protector of the city of Kourion. Archaeological evidence shows that the cult of Apollo was celebrated here from the 8th century BC to the 4th century AD. The sanctuary of Apollo was destroyed by earthquake in the late 4th century A.D.[kypros.org]
