Description

With origins in the 15th Century, the Baltic was originally called the Red Lion. In the late 16th century a Swedish Ironworker moved to the area and built an ironworks that supplied cannon balls to Elizabeth I and her Spanish Wars. The ironworks also supplied munitions for the civil war in the 17th century. The baltic name comes from the association with this man.
