English: Excerpt from original description: 2 cartes de visite of Ransom, each measuring approximately 2.5" x 4.25". In the first, Ransom is posed standing in his uniform and has a backstamp from the studio of Charles D. Fredericks & Co. In the second image, Ransom is posed standing dressed in civilian clothes next to general John A. McClernand; with a backstamp from Brand's studio in Chicago.
