Description

Two houses, Algiers, Louisiana, Peters Street near Verret, 1866.

The town of Algiers was annexed to the city of New Orleans in 1870. "Peters Street" was renamed "Pelican". Buildings shown no longer exist, likely destroyed by the great Algiers Point Fire of 1895.
