CLOSE-UP OF A COMPACTED SPLINTERED JOINT DEVELOPED AT OAK RIDGE NATIONAL LABORATORY FOR THE INTERNATIONAL EXPERIMENT REACTOR (ITER) CENTRAL SOLENOID MAGNET SYSTEM.

Individual superconducting strands, interspersed with copper strands, surround the central cooling channel.
