SPALLATION NEUTRON SOURCE CAVITY ASSEMBLY IN A CLEAN ROOM OF THE TEST LAB AT THE THOMAS JEFFERSON NATIONAL ACCELERATOR FACILITY.

JEFFERSON LAB SCIENTISTS, ENGINEERS AND TECHNICIANS ARE PARTICIPATING IN THE PRODUCTION OF THE COMPLEX STATE-OF-THE-ART SUPER-COOLED COMPONENTS IN WHICH PARTICLE BEAMS ARE ACCELERATED FOR SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH. EVENTUALLY 81 NIOBIUM CAVITIES FOR 23 CRYOMODULES WILL BE PROVIDED FOR A NEW FEDERAL LABORATORY, THE SPALLATION NEURTRON SOURCE UNDER CONSTRUCTION AT OAK RIDGE, TENNESSEE.
