Summary edit

Description U.S. Navy Meritorious Unit Commendation pennant, flown by ships which have won the award, which is given in the name of the Secretary of the Navy to units which performed service of a character comparable to that which would merit the award of a Bronze Star Medal, or achievement of like caliber in a non-combat situation. The colors are supposed to be hunter green, air force yellow, ultra-marine blue, air force yellow and scarlet. If won more than once, a bronze star is added to the center stripe for each additional win (up to five), decreasing in size so to still fit on the strip. For more information, see here, here, or U.S. Navy document NTP 13(B) [1], section 1605.
