Description
English: "Chiefs are the most important and influential leaders our Sailors deal with every day. That's why the MCPON's (Master Chief Petty Officer of the Navy) leadership in developing our Chiefs is so crucial." In a change of office ceremony held at the Washington Navy Yard, Chief of Naval Operations, Adm. Vern Clark, reiterated his confidence in newly-appointed MCPON (SS/AW) Terry D. Scott (seated far right) and congratulated outgoing MCPON (SS/SW/AW) James L. Herdt for his outstanding service and dedication to the Navy's Sailors.
