English: U.S. Navy Lieutenant Commander John Howland, a pilot assigned to the “Stingers” of Strike Fighter Squadron 113 (VFA-113) checks an AIM-9M Sidewinder missile on his F/A-18C aircraft during preflight checks to ensure it is securely attached. The Abraham Lincoln Battle Group was on a regularly scheduled deployment conducting combat missions in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.
