Description
English: Pearl Harbor, Hawaii (Nov. 1, 2002) -- Sailors aboard the Chilean training ship Esmeralda (BE 43) fire a 1916-vintage Hotchkiss Saluting Gun during a 21-gun salute as they enter Pearl Harbor for a weekend port visit. The 371-foot steel-hulled four-masted barquentine is the world’s 2nd tallest sailing ship and has a crew of 300 Sailors and 90 midshipmen. The midshipmen recently finished a four-year naval academy training program and will finish their fifth year on a training cruise around the world aboard Esmeralda.
