English: Naval Station Norfolk, Va., (Nov 14, 2002) -- Officers from the Fleet Logistics Support Squadron Four Zero (VRC-40) Wardroom Association “go the distance” for charity. The wardroom plans to carry the “game ball” from Norfolk, Va., to Annapolis, Md. The run will cover the 210-mile distance in 30 hours as a fundraiser for the Childer's Hospital of King's Daughters in Norfolk, Va. The 14 team members each plan to run approximately 13 miles each until they reach their final destination and deliver the ball to the Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium in Annapolis, Md. just before kickoff for the United States Naval Academy vs. University of Connecticut football game.
