English: Arlington, Va. (Nov. 19, 2002) -- The U.S. Navy and Marine Corps’ senior leadership recognize six separate commands for their tremendous safety record. From right, U.S. Marine Corps General William Nyland, Assistant Commandant of the Marine Corps, Adm. Vern Clark, Chief of Naval Operations (CNO), and The Honorable Gordon England, Secretary of the Navy, pose for a photo with personnel representing USS Theodore Roosevelt (CVN 71). The other five commands recognized were Marine Corps Base Hawaii, U.S. Naval Air Station Keflavik, Iceland, USS Benfold (DDG 65), the “Red Devils” of Marine Strike Fighter Squadron Two Thirty Two (VMFA-232), and the “Marauders” of Strike Fighter Squadron Eight Two (VFA-82).
