English: At sea with USS Mount Whitney (LCC/JCC 20) Feb. 5, 2003 -- After completing a General Quarters (GQ) drill, the Mount Whitney lights off its onboard Counter Measure Wash Down System (CMWDS). The CMWDS is used to help the ship combat a Chemical, Biological or Radiological (CBR) weapons attack. Mount Whitney and her embarked Marines are deployed to the Horn of Africa region to participate in Operation Enduring Freedom and the continuing war on terrorism.
