English: At sea aboard USS Kearsarge (LHD 3) Feb. 6, 2003 -- A U.S. Marine Crew Chief loads ammunition into the magazine of an M-16 rifle. Developed for use in Vietnam, the M-16 is now the primary combat rifle within the U.S. military as well as many of our allies around the world. Kearsarge, a Wasp-class amphibious assault ship, is deployed with and serving as the flagship for a seven ship Amphibious Task Force East (ATF-E) conducting missions in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.
