Image title | 030318-N-1050K-002 Camp Patriot, Kuwait (March 18, 2003) -- While tensions continue to ramp, so does the work of thousands of Seabees in Southwest Asia. Steelworker 3rd Class Mike Freeman, a 23-year-old Northern Hills, Calif., native trims the excess off the flooring frame during tent strong-backing. Freeman and hundreds of other Seabees attached to Amphibious Construction Battalion Two (ACB-2) continue to build reinforced tent structures at Camp Patriot. From the island hopping of World War II and the cold of Korea to the jungles of Vietnam, to the mountains of Bosnia and the deserts of Afghanistan and Kuwait, the Seabees have built entire bases, bulldozed and paved thousands of miles of roadway and airstrips and accomplished a myriad of construction projects. ACB-2, homeported in Little Creek, Va., is deployed to the Central Command area of responsibility in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.
