English: The Arabian Gulf (Mar. 26, 2003) -- Four Iraqi vessels were intercepted in the Khor Abd Allah waterway by U.S.-led coalition forces. The mines were transported to Camp Patriot, Kuwait by coalition vessels under the protection of seaward security forces for further analysis and destruction. The four Iraqi boats were carrying nearly 100 mines that were concealed in 50-gallon barrels lined in rows to make the boat look like a cargo barge and tug. One Iraqi vessel carried uniforms and small arms. U.S. Navy photo by Journalist 1st Class Joseph Krypel. (RELEASED) |
