English: Camp Patriot, Kuwait (April 2, 2003) -- U.S. Navy Seabees attached to Amphibious Construction Battalions One and Two (ACB-1, ACB –2) discuss their next move in the building of the Elevated Causeway System (ELCAS)-modular structure at Camp Patriot. The ELCAS is a joint effort of Amphibious Construction Battalion (ACB) Seabees from the East and West coasts. It will serve as an additional tool in the ongoing Combined Joint Logistics Over the Shore (CJLOTS) activities. CJLOTS allows the offload of supplies, equipment and ordnance from Army and Navy pre-positioning ships, to reach the troops in a timelier manner. The Seabees are deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom, the multi-national coalition effort to liberate the Iraqi people, eliminate Iraq's weapons of mass destruction, and end the regime of Saddam Hussein. ACB-1 is homeported in Coronado, Calif., while ACB-2 is homeported in Little Creek, Va. U.S. Navy photo by Journalist 1st Class Joseph Krypel. (RELEASED) |
