Description
English: Camp Patriot, Kuwait (April 3, 2003) -- The Honorable Richard H. Jones, U.S. Ambassador to the State of Kuwait peers upon an Iraqi acoustic influence mine hidden in the bowls of a barge that was recently seized by coalition forces in the Khor Abd Allah waterway. The mines and seized vessels were transported to Camp Patriot for further analysis and destruction. Ambassador Jones had the opportunity to see the mines, and meet the men and women of Camp Patriot during his recent visit. Camp Patriot is home to nearly 3,000 U.S. Soldiers, Sailors, Marines, Airman and Coast Guardsmen forward deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom, the multi-national coalition effort to liberate the Iraqi people, eliminate Iraq's weapons of mass destruction, and end the regime of Saddam Hussein.
