English: Central Command Area of Responsibility (Apr. 13, 2003) -- Cpl. Christopher Castro assigned to 3rd Light Armored Reconnaissance Battalion leads Army former Prisoners of War (POWs) rescued earlier that day, off a Marine KC-130 Hercules assigned to Marine Aerial Refueler Squadron Four Fifty-Two (VMGR-452). The flight took the former POWs from an airfield near Baghdad to Kuwait City. VMGR-452 and the 3rd Light Armored Reconnaissance Battalion are conducting missions in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. Operation Iraqi Freedom is the multi-national coalition effort to liberate the Iraqi people, eliminate Iraq’s weapons of mass destruction, and end the regime of Saddam Hussein.
