English: At sea aboard USS Carl Vinson (CVN 70) Mar. 10, 2004 - Members of the crash and salvage team check the Aqueous Film Forming Foam (AFFF) sprinklers on the flight deck for proper operation during a flight deck countermeasure washdown. AFFF is a firefighting agent used aboard ship that is most effective when combating fuel fires associated with aircraft operations. Vinson is homeported at Naval Station Bremerton, Wash., and is conducting sea trials to test newly installed technologies in preparation for upcoming scheduled operations.
