Description
English: At sea aboard USS Carl Vinson (CVN 70) Mar. 10, 2004 - Lt. Cdr. T.J. Berhow observes the Aqueous Film Forming Foam (AFFF) sprinklers in the hangar bay for proper operation during a test of the countermeasure washdown system. AFFF is a firefighting agent used aboard ship that is most effective when combating fuel fires associated with aircraft operations. Vinson is homeported at Naval Station Bremerton, Wash., and is conducting sea trials to test newly installed technologies in preparation for upcoming scheduled operations.
