English: Camp Schwab, Okinawa, Japan (Mar. 16, 2004) – U.S. Marine Corps Lance Cpl. Eric T. Pittman, a rifleman assigned to Company L, 3rd Battalion, 4th Marine Regiment, 3rd Marine Division, uses the new Multiple Integrated Laser Engagement System (MILES) 2000 gear during a training evolution aboard Camp Schwab. The MILES-2000 gear is an updated version of the old MILES gear which the Marine Corps has used for training purposes for more than 20 years. MILES gear provides tactical engagement simulation for direct fire force-on-force training using eye safe laser “bullets.” U.S. Marine Corps photo by Cpl. Ryan D. Libbert. (RELEASED) |
