English: Atlantic Ocean (Oct. 15, 2004) - The Commanding Officer of the amphibious assault ship USS Saipan (LHA 2), along with the longest serving and newest serving aboard the ship, make the first cuts into a cake replica of Saipan, celebrating the ship's 27th birthday. The enormous cake measures six feet in length, three feet in width, and 25 inches high. The cake took more than two days to complete. U.S. Navy photo by Photographer's Mate 3rd Class Mark A.
