The Huey is attached to Marine Medium Helicopter Squadron 165 (HMM 165) 'Reinforced' with 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU) 15 Aviation Combat Element. USS Duluth (LPD 6) is currently transiting through the Strait of Hormuz, signifying the end of their deployment to the Arabian Gulf and the last leg of it's final underway period as a commissioned Navy vessel. Upon completion of the cruise USS Duluth is scheduled to be decommissioned ending a 39-year life cycle as a United States Ship. USS Duluth is part of Expeditionary Strike Group Five based in San Diego, California. The Duluth is currently conducting Maritime Security Operations in the NAVCENT Area of Responsibility (AOR). Maritime Security Operations (MSO) are aimed at setting the conditions for security and stability in the maritime environment. Illicit activity at sea has a global impact. MSOs pressurize the maritime environment and are the single most significant component of the conventional maritime effort against terrorism.
