(Sept. 7, 2005) — Volunteers sort through baby clothes at the Hurricane Katrina Evacuee Supply Depot, which is housed in at hangar a the Naval Air Technical Training Center on board Naval Air Station Pensacola, Fla. The clothes and household effects were donated by area military personnel in response to the needs of military personnel and their families who were evacuated in anticipation of Hurricane Katrina and to those who lost their homes due to the storm. The Navy’s involvement in the Hurricane Katrina humanitarian assistance operations is led by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), in conjunction with the Department of Defense.
