English: Suez Canal (April 9, 2006) - The dock landing ship USS Carter Hall (LSD 50) trails the amphibious assault ship USS Nassau (LHA 4) as she transits the Suez Canal. Nassau and other members of Expeditionary Strike Group Eight (ESG-8) transited the Suez Canal on their way to the Mediterranean Sea after a scheduled deployment to the 5th Fleet Area of Operations. Nassau is deployed as flagship for ESG-8 and will report to Commander, 6th Fleet while transiting through the Mediterranean Sea in route to their homecoming.
