USS KITTY HAWK (CV 63), At Sea (Aug. 30, 2006) - Crewmembers on USNS Tippecanoe (T-AO 199) refuel and re-supply the aircraft carrier USS Kitty Hawk and guided-missile destroyer USS Lassen (DDG 82). The technique is known as replenishment at sea. USNS Tippecanoe is a Military Sealift Command oiler deployed to the Western Pacific Ocean to refuel and re-supply 7th Fleet units. The Kitty Hawk, and its embarked air wing, is currently at sea in the Western Pacific Ocean as part of the U.S. 7th Fleet.
