English: YANGGU, Republic of Korea (April 25, 2007) - Commanding General of the United States 3rd Marine Expeditionary Force, Lt. Gen. Joseph F. Weber, and Kim Sung Eun, the 4th Marine Commandant for the Republic of Korea and former Defense Minister unveil a stone taken from the Do Sol San Battlefield in a dedication ceremony held at the U.S. Marine Forces Korea Headquarters. The Memorial Stone, donated by the Mayor of Yanggu County, honored the 181 Korean Marines killed and 647 injured during the Battle for Mount Do Sol, the most costly of the war for the Koreans, that was part of the Punch Bowl Campaign in 1951. The inscription on the stone, "Invincible Marines" was inspired by former South Korean President Syngman Rhee who was deeply moved by the bravery of the Marines during the battle.
