English: COLON, Panama (May 2, 2007) - Boatswain's Mate 2nd Class Thomas Williams, United States Coast Guard International Training Division, conducts training on cargo container inspections to Servicio Maritimo Nacional de Panama (Panamanian National Maritime Service) and Policia Nacional de Panama (Panamian National Police) members. Commander, Task Group 40.9 (CTG 40.9) and HSV-2 Swift, are deployed as part of the pilot Global Fleet Station (GFS) to the Caribbean basin and Central America. Global Fleet Station is designed to validate the GFS concept for the Navy and support U.S. Southern Command objectives for its area of responsibility by enhancing cooperative partnerships with regional maritime services and improving operational readiness for the participating partner nations.
