English: YONAGUNI, Japan (June 25, 2007) - Chief Electrician’s Mate Noel Corneja, assigned to the Sasebo-based mine warfare ship USS Patriot (MCM 7), picks up trash on Nanta Beach during a two-day port visit to the island. Yonaguni, part of Okinawa Prefecture, is a small island located at the end of the Ryukyu Islands chain. Patriot and USS Guardian’s (MCM 5) port call marked the first time a Navy vessel visited the island since the United States returned Okinawa to Japan in 1972.
