Description
English: MIAMI (Nov. 15, 2007) Vice Adm. John G. Morgan Jr., a deputy Chief of Naval Operations, and U.S. Coast Guard Vice Adm. D. Brian Peterman, commander, Atlantic Area and Defense Force East speak to a large crowd of business and civic leaders in Miami, the first stop in a series of "Conversations with the Country" to present the new Maritime Strategy. This strategy represents the first major direction change since the Cold War in how the Navy, Marine Corps and Coast Guard cooperate. Recognizing that world prosperity and security depends on free use of the seas, the three services will operate jointly to provide the right balance of forces to conduct traditional combat missions, humanitarian missions and raise the prevention of war to a level equal to the conduct of war.
