Description
English: QUEENSLAND, Australia (July 15, 2009) Landing Craft Air Cushion (LCAC) 21, assigned to Assault Craft Unit Five (ACU-5) Detachment Western Pacific, transports U.S. Marines and vehicles to the beach as an AH-1W Super Cobra helicopter, assigned to Marine Medium Helicopter Squadron (HMM) 262, provides cover for the mock amphibious assault. ACU-5, HMM-262 and the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit are embarked aboard the amphibious assault ship USS Essex (LHD 2). Essex is participating in Talisman Saber 2009, a joint exercise between the U.S. and the Australian Defense Force that includes participation from more than 20,000 U.S. and 10,000 Australian personnel.
