English: SOUTH CHINA SEA (Aug. 22, 2011) The guided-missile destroyer USS Curtis Wilbur (DDG 54) fires its 5-inch/54-caliber (MK 45) lightweight gun at an aerial target. Curtis Wilbur is participating in Cooperation Afloat Readiness and Training (CARAT) 2011. CARAT is a series of bilateral exercises held annually in Southeast Asia to strengthen relationships and enhance force readiness.
