Porträt Johanna Dorothea "Dora" Stock (1760-1832), Pastellmalerin und Schwester Minna Körners. Stock ist als Portaitbüste auf einem Kamin dargestellt. Neben dem Titel "Mlle. Stock" und einem Vers unter dem Bild, ist der linke Rand der Zeichnung mit einem großen und einem kleinen "C" versehen. - nachträglich mit einem Kreuz hinter Titel/Namen versehen [Bildunterschrift] Camin im Winter wärmen thut/ Mit Feuer sey auf deiner Huth.Biografisches Johanna Dorothea Stock (1760–1832) war eine bekannte deutsche Pastellmalerin und die ältere Schwester von Minna Körner (1762–1843). Sie wurde in Nürnberg geboren, wuchs aber in Leipzig auf. Nach der Hochzeit ihrer Schwester zog Dora Stock mit den Körners nach Dresden. Eine Verlobung löste sie und blieb ihr Leben lang unverheiratet. Sie unterhielt viele Bekanntschaften, u.a. mit Johann Wolfgang von Goethe, Friedrich Schiller, Anton Graff (1726–1813) und der Malerin Louise Seidler (1786–1866). Zusammen mit der Familie Körner war sie oft zu Gast in Löbichau und wurde zur Reisebegleiterin der Herzogin von Kurland (1), die sie auch mehrfach porträtierte. (2) Dora Stock malte überwiegend Porträts als Zeichnungen, Pastell- oder Ölgemälde. „Dorchen Stock hatte ein sehr hübsches Gesicht, belebter und geistreicher, als das ihrer Schwester. Ihre Geschicklichkeit im Pastellmalen ist bekannt.
