Description
English: Floating elephant-shaped float prepared in 1901 for the parade known in the Spanish city of Cartagena (Region of Murcia) as maritime evening (velada marítima).
Maritime evenings were the main event of the summer fairs held in Cartagena, and were conducted between late 19th century and the July 26, 1972, when an accident aboard a float killed ten people.
Español: Carroza flotante con forma de elefante preparada en 1901 para el desfile conocido en la ciudad española de Cartagena (Región de Murcia) como la velada marítima.
Las veladas marítimas eran el acto central de las ferias celebradas en verano en Cartagena, y se llevaron a cabo entre finales del siglo XIX y el 26 de julio de 1972, cuando un accidente a bordo de una carroza provocó la muerte de diez personas.
