Nederlands: Vernier - schaalverdeling (kleinste streepjes zijn normaal niet te zien) Om te weten waar je precies tussen de 0 en 1 zit, moet je kijken welk streepje van de Vernierschaal met je SI-schaal overeenkomt; zo bekom je het cijfer dat een rang lager komt (bvb. 0,1).
English: Vernier scale divisions: the smallest are not normally visible. To find the position between 0 and 1, examine which mark on the Vernier scale matches the SI-scale. In this way a smaller order of magnitude can be measured, e.g., 0.1.
