Summary

Description
English: Jean-Frédéric Waldeck drawing of sculpture attached to "Adivino" pyramid at Uxmal, and reconstruction of paint in background seen from remains surviving.
Note: Waldeck tended to imaginatively restore damaged works, influenced by his studies of European and Ancient Egyptian art. The original on which this was based is no longer known; it may have been one of the "indecent" sculptures removed/destroyed in preparation for the visit by "Empress" Carlota in 1863.
