Source Auszug aus persönlicher Antwort des Hauptamtsleiters der Gemeinde Wiesmoor, Henry Herten: "Im § 15 der Nieders. Gemeindeordnung ist die Wappen- und Siegelführung für Gemeinden festgelegt. Dieses basiert auf § 12 BGB. Hiernach ist die Benutzung des Wappens gegen unbefugte Verwendung geschützt (vergl. auch § 27 des Warenzeichengesetzes). Die Gemeinde kann jedoch Dritten die Verwendung des Wappens gestatten. Da in diesem Fall kein Missbrauch der Verwendung des Wappens ersichtlich ist, genehmige ich Ihnen die Verwendung des Wiesmoorer Gemeindewappens bei Wikipedia."
