Description
English: Main diagram of water heater's connection.
  • 1) Here is better to use melting fuses (as usual gG) to save heating process if one heating resistor gives short circuit or overload (it will heat slowly and weakly, but building still have warm water).
  • 2) Obviously use RCD. There are 10 deaths every year in Great Britain in batrooms. And reason is simple: during years, in ground terminals apper corrosion, which weakens electrical contact between ground wire and heater's cover. Any leakage to cover will not beat out fuse. It will electrocute someone who taking the shower or bath. But as usual British authorities use that fact for pumping more money saying improper reasons to protect electrical companies economical interests.
  • 3) Subpanel (driving panel). Some water heaters have it inside, so you need there to connect only hot wires and ground. But some water heaters (especially in factories or big tower blocks) requires separate driving. Here is nothing difficult, you need to connect it through temperature detector. When temperature is enough, temperature detector will interrupt circuit №28, which interrupts circuit №16 and disenergize whole water heater by contactor "PR1" untill water cooling.
4) Wiring of heating resistors. Wire it accordingly instruction attached to your heater.
