| Description |
Deutsch: Das Institutsgebäude „Freihaus“ der Technischen Universität an der Adresse Wiedner Hauptstraße 8-10 im 4. Wiener Bezirk Wieden. Der Baukomplex mit 3 Türmen wurde ab 1976 nach den Plänen der Architekten Alexander Marchart und Roland Moebius errichtet. Die Dachgleiche fand 1979 statt, jedoch der Bezug verschob sich, weil „die hochwertige Haustechnik den Gebäudekomplex fast überforderte. Im Zuge von Nachplanungen wurde die Raumhöhe schließlich von 3 m auf 2,70 m bis sogar 2,50 m gesenkt und Behördenauflagen erzwangen eine fast vollständige Neubearbeitung“. Im Anschluss wurde das unmittelbar nördlich situierte Bibliotheksgebäude der TU Wien (ganz rechts im Bild) an der Adresse Wiedner Hauptstraße 6 von den gleichen Architekten errichtet und 1987 eröffnet. |
