DescriptionWillow tree.jpg |
This was taken from the south end of the Great Lawn in Central Park (not to be confused with the Sheep Meadow just north of 59th Street, which is far more familiar to out-of-town visitors). The view is looking south, though you can't see the Manhattan skyline from this perspective. Indeed, if you didn't know better, you might not even think you were in NYC at all; this could be a bucolic country scene somewhere out in Middle America (also known to us New Yorkers as "the Red States"). This was a handheld shot, with the camera resting in a reasonably stable fashion on the top of a fence-post. It's an HDR blend of five images, and I was fortunate that none of the people under the willow tree moved in any noticeable fashion. |
