Description
Deutsch: Wuppertal, Wohnquartier Barmen-Mitte, Geschwister-Scholl-Platz, zwei kleine Jungs erkunden das Bismarck-Denkmal und Engels schaut vom Fahnenmast aus zu. Bei der sitzenden Dame handelt es sich um Clio, die Muse der Geschichte, die also ihr Geschichtsbuch aufgeschlagen hat, um Bismarcks Leistungen zu präsentieren. Otto von Bismarck, ab 1895 Ehrenbürger von Barmen und Friedrich Engels, der weltweit berühmteste Sohn der Stadt, waren übrigens Zeitgenossen, Bismarck war fünfeinhalb Jahre älter als Engels und hat ihn um drei Jahre überlebt. Beide stammten aus wohlhabenden Familien. Ansonsten dürften sie wenig gemein gehabt haben.
