English: Overview from the White House: on the area near Beursplein, Gelderschestraat, hit by the German bombardment of 14 May 1940, with the Plan C collective building, the Beursstation and the Beursgebouw in the foreground, further on the Sint Laurenskerk and the town hall. From the southeast. The city center was largely destroyed as a result of the bombing.
Nederlands: Overzicht vanaf het Witte Huis: op de door het Duitse bombardement van 14 mei 1940 getroffen omgeving bij het Beursplein, Gelderschestraat, met op de voorgrond het verzamelgebouw Plan C, het Beursstation en het Beursgebouw, verderop de Sint Laurenskerk en het stadhuis. Uit het zuidoosten. Als gevolg van het bombardement is het centrum van de stad grotendeels verwoest. |
