Omission edit

This map, as of September 20, 2017, has an omission. New Valley Governorate (Egypt), which is in the top 50 world subdivisions, is not shaded in the map. It has been overlooked.

Suggestion about map projection edit

Secondly, I suggest a better map projection to be selected to minimize area distortions, such as the Mollweide projection or Equal-Area Cylindrical projection. It is important to prioritize accurate representations of area on a map that is trying to compare the relative areas of different territories. The Robinson projection is pretty good too, as it tries to balance shape and area (i.e. both shape and area are somewhat distorted, but neither aspect is highly so). — Preceding unsigned comment added by Firth m (talk • contribs) 02:51, 20 September 2017 (UTC)Reply

California should not be highlighted edit

California is not included in the Wikipedia:List of country subdivisions by area article's Top 50, but this map indicates that it is. (Presumably, this means some other subdivision in the Top 50 is not highlighted, though I have not gone through the whole list to be sure.)

It would be helpful to recreate this map according to the information in the article, assuming it is accurate. Perhaps the editor could upload the new version as an SVG file so that it could be more easily edited if/when borders change in the future.

I may do this myself at some future point, but I'm not sure when. Maybe someone else has the time and interest in fixing this sooner. --EightYearBreak (talk) 15:27, 11 July 2018 (UTC)Reply
